1. As suggested by the articles, the issue of why large organizational change efforts fail is due to communication issues and that it’s not just a matter of the frequency of the communication but also the quality. As such, describe in detail what you think are the internal and external factors that would be causing the communication problems described in the articles. Be specific! For example, you should focus on factors such as current communication technologies in use today in organizations, generational differences in technology use and/ or communication preferences etc.
2. Given the communication influences you identified in Q1, what leadership style do you think is best suited to ensure that the right type and amount of communication is conveyed to employees? Identify a specific leadership style and give detailed reasons and explanations for why you feel the leadership style you chose would be more effective than other leadership styles.
3. What types of 1) interpersonal, 2) intrapersonal, and 3) group conflicts do you feel could be caused by a lack of communication and that could be directly interfering with organizational change? Furthermore, do you feel that the more traditional modes of communication and channels are part of the issue? In other words, do organizations need to adopt different communication methods or do a better job leveraging the communication tools and principles that we already have?
